Juliana

Meet Juliana!  Juliana is 17 years old and has been dancing for the past 13 years.  She currently dances at The Studio of Dance Arts where she competes and dances recreationally.  She also belongs to the Central Catholic High School dance team.  With her team, she competes and performs at basketball games.  Juliana’s favorite style of dance is jazz.  When we asked Juliana what she loves most about dance, she told us that she loves performing.  She says that she has so much personality and loves to share it.  Dance gives her the opportunity to do so.  She also loves getting on stage and being able to become a different person - a person who is confident and fearless, and does not care about what other people think. Dance makes Juliana feel alive when she is just about to go on stage, when her heart is racing and her adrenaline is pumping through her veins.

Juliana’s favorite part of the Alive event that she attended was The Showcase.  She really enjoyed getting to show her parents, teachers, and peers the routines that she learned throughout the day.  On top of that, she also really loved it when she was chosen as an Alive hip hop ambassador.  Getting to perform on the stage with the other amazing ambassadors and the choreographer made her feel so special.  Juliana is looking forward to assisting at the Alive convention in January.  She loves taking on leadership roles, so she knows that this is going to be an incredible experience for her.

Fun fact - Juliana’s dance career was inspired by the one and only Beyonce. Beyonce has been her biggest inspiration since she could walk. Juliana has always wanted to dance like Beyonce and maybe one day even get the chance to dance WITH Beyonce - it is her biggest dream!

Juliana is so grateful for her parents. She wouldn't be able to accomplish anything that she does without them. They have been her biggest supporters throughout her whole dance career and she couldn’t be more blessed. She wanted to be sure to thank her parents for everything that they do for her, especially with dance.
