Evelyn

Meet Evelyn!  Evelyn is 9 years old and has been dancing since she was 2.  Evelyn dances at Encore Dance Academy in Reading, MA.  Here, she is a member of the Petite Company.  With her team, she competes in regional and national dance competitions. She also takes weekly classes in ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, acro, stretch & conditioning, and core & strength. Evelyn has a hard time choosing a favorite style of dance because she loves them all!  If she had to choose, she would say that her favorite is jazz.  When we asked Evelyn what she loves most about dance, she told us that she loves how dance makes her stronger.  She also loves all of the friendships that she has made through dance.  Dance makes Evelyn feel alive because she has to use a lot of energy to dance, and that energy gives her life and happiness!

Evelyn’s favorite part of an Alive event is how she feels so alive the whole time.  She also thought it was cool being able to dance with all of the ambassadors before The Showdown, she loved that part!  Evelyn is looking forward to January’s event when she will have the opportunity to learn more and improve her dance skills.  She is also looking forward to getting to assist the teachers as an ambassador.

Fun fact - Evelyn can bend herself in half, so much so that people like to joke that she has no spine!  Dance is Evelyn’s favorite thing in the whole wide world!  She hopes to be a dancer for her whole life.
