Grace

Meet Grace!  Grace is 14 years old and has been dancing since she was 3.  She trains at The Studio of Dance Arts in Methuen, MA where she is a member of the competition team.  Grace and her team perform at many events, both locally and around the country.  Most recently she has performed at Methuen Town Day, Move for the Movement, Methuen’s Christmas Parade, and Walt Disney World.  Dance is a big part of Grace’s life as she practices almost every day and works with her team to get better.  Grace’s favorite style of dance is hip hop because she can have fun with it and feel the movement of the music.  She also loves it because the style allows her to express herself and have fun with others.  When we asked Grace what she loves most about dance, she told us that she loves being able to perform.  She loves it so much because whether she is dancing in a group or by herself, she is able to express how she feels and tell stories through her movement.  Dance makes Grace feel alive when she goes on stage and presents herself in a way that she loves.  It also makes her feel alive because it allows her to move in her own unique way and work on improving every day.  

Grace’s favorite part of her first ALive Dance Tours’ event was making so many new friends and learning from different choreographers.  She loved experiencing their different styles of teaching.  Grace is looking forward to future Alive conventions so that she can assist a hip-hop class and make new friends.  

Fun fact - Grace loves helping out and assisting classes for younger dancers at her studio!  She also hopes to become a choreographer and a dance teacher in her future.
